Year of Stewardship
In 2012 and 2013, the Paulist Center undertook a very intentional approach to Stewardship. The materials we created and shared with our community during that year are contained here.
Generous and loving God,
You call us to be followers of Jesus
and stewards of your many gifts.
Open our minds and hearts to
greater awareness and deeper appreciation
of your countless blessings.
Transform us through the power of your Spirit
to form our lives in stewardship,
marked by faithful prayer,
service to our neighbor
and generous sharing.
Teach us to be faithful servants,
that we may return to you, with increase,
the gifts entrusted to us.
We pray, through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Widow’s Mite Homily
“Chicken and pig wake up one morning and see a new
sign the farmer has painted on the side of the barn.
It says, Ham and Egg breakfast, $5.00. The chicken
says, “That’s great, the farmer figured out a new way
to make some money.”
The pig said, “Sure, you think it’s great. For you it’s a
contribution. For me it’s a sacrifice.”
